Before changing the connection
List active listings and IDs, upcoming bookings and tools that update prices. Keep a dated export of the current configuration. A property can have multiple listings and rate plans: record those relationships first.
Assign an owner to the switch and choose a time when they can check the result. Prepare platform administrator access and any required connection approvals.
Property, listing and rate plan are different things
A property is the unit you operate. A listing presents it on a booking platform. A rate plan defines a booking offer, such as flexible or non-refundable.
| Your inventory | Platform equivalent | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Dockside Apartment | Matching Airbnb listing | Same address and unit |
| Dockside Apartment | Booking.com property and room type | Capacity and inventory |
| Flexible rate | Mapped rate plan | Currency, price and restrictions |
| Non-refundable rate | Derived or independent plan | Calculation rule and controlling system |
Connect, then review the mapping
Open booking-platform connections during Keyful setup. Follow the channel-specific procedure and link listings to properties. Review room types and rate plans before activating exchanges.
For Booking.com, the connection is also prepared in the property’s extranet, then mapping is checked in the channel manager. A pending request does not mean synchronization is active. Follow the platform guide displayed during setup.
When you use dynamic pricing
Decide which system supplies prices before the first synchronization. A manual change in one tool should not be overwritten unexpectedly by another.
Check a weekday, a weekend, a closed date and a date with a minimum-stay restriction. Verify the received rate, currency, restrictions and availability. Record derived-rate rules applied by the platform too.
A short check before going live
Use the agreed test scope. Check a new booking, a modification and a cancellation, then review affected dates. For historical data, distinguish provider-supported recovery from information you need to retain by export.
- Properties and listings match without duplicates.
- Future bookings and blocked dates are consistent.
- Rates and restrictions reach the correct offer.
- Moving a stay reopens old dates and closes new ones.
- The responsible people know where to find an error.
